Content Guidelines
Welcome to the UGR Community Blog! To ensure quality and maintain a positive environment for all members of the University of Granada community, please follow these guidelines when submitting content.
General Principles
- Respect - Treat all community members with respect and dignity
- Accuracy - Ensure your content is factually accurate and well-researched
- Relevance - Content should be relevant to the university community or academic interests
- Originality - Submit original content or properly attribute sources
- Accessibility - Write in clear, accessible language that can be understood by diverse audiences
Content Requirements
Article Structure
- Title - Clear, descriptive, and engaging (50-100 characters)
- Category - Select the most appropriate category for your content
- Content - Minimum 500 words, well-structured with headings and paragraphs
- Excerpt - A brief summary (100-200 words) that captures the essence of your article
- Author Information - Your name and affiliation with UGR
Writing Quality
- Use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Write in Spanish or English (specify your language preference)
- Use clear and concise language
- Structure your content with headings, subheadings, and paragraphs
- Include relevant examples, data, or references when appropriate
Prohibited Content
The following types of content are not allowed:
- Plagiarism - Do not submit content that is not your own without proper attribution
- Hate Speech - Content that promotes discrimination, harassment, or violence
- False Information - Deliberately misleading or false information
- Spam - Promotional content, advertisements, or repetitive submissions
- Personal Attacks - Content that attacks individuals rather than ideas
- Illegal Content - Content that violates laws or university policies
- Inappropriate Material - Explicit, offensive, or inappropriate content
Category-Specific Guidelines
Science
- Present research findings clearly and accurately
- Cite sources and references
- Explain complex concepts in accessible language
- Distinguish between established facts and hypotheses
Literature
- Provide thoughtful analysis and critique
- Avoid spoilers or provide warnings when necessary
- Support opinions with examples from the text
- Respect diverse perspectives and interpretations
Programming
- Include working code examples when relevant
- Explain concepts clearly for different skill levels
- Test code before sharing
- Provide context and use cases
Medicine
- Ensure medical information is accurate and up-to-date
- Include disclaimers when appropriate
- Cite medical sources and research
- Do not provide medical diagnoses or treatment advice
Art
- Include images or descriptions of artwork when relevant
- Provide context and interpretation
- Respect copyright and intellectual property
- Encourage constructive discussion
Opinion
- Clearly identify opinions as such
- Support opinions with reasoning and evidence
- Be open to respectful disagreement
- Avoid inflammatory or divisive language
Moderation Process
All submitted content goes through a moderation process:
- Initial Review - Content is reviewed for compliance with guidelines
- Quality Check - Content is evaluated for quality, accuracy, and relevance
- Approval/Rejection - Content is either approved for publication or returned with feedback
- Publication - Approved content is published and made available to the community
Note: Moderation typically takes 2-5 business days. If your content is rejected, you will receive feedback explaining why and suggestions for improvement.
